We believe that one of our most important ministries at St. George’s is to welcome everyone. In that spirit, we are delighted to know that you are interested in being married in St. George’s.
The Episcopal Church regards the sacrament of marriage as a sacred liturgy. At St. George’s all weddings are performed according to the rite prescribed in the Book of Common Prayer (1979), which says that marriage is “not to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly, but reverently, deliberately, and in accordance with the purposes for which it was intended by God."
Weddings are an opportunity for great celebration and offer us a glimpse of God’s vast love for each of us. That’s why we are pleased to invite you to read our brief guide to weddings at St. George’s and then talk with us about your wedding and your marriage.
